Upon graduating, she was recruited by numerous Division 1 universities but ultimately accepted a full athletic scholarship to attend Marshall University located in Huntington, WV. Throughout the years, Erica has also competed with (and captained) the Bermuda Women’s National Basketball team. Prior to commencing university, she was afforded the opportunity to travel to multiple European countries as she represented the U20 Women’s Great Britain National Basketball team which participated in the 2009 European Championships held in Macedonia.
Erica is now a proud alumni of Marshall University where she earned her Bachelors in Sports Management and Marketing and her Masters in Adult and Technical Education with a concentration in Training and Development.
She has also recently graduated from the Kingdom Life Academy International in which she completed the Mime in Ministry Excellence course, under the tutelage of Minister Desiree Ross. However, her most treasured accomplishment to date, has been becoming the mother of her son, Zion J.R. Woods.
Erica is currently a teacher at Anointed Steps Dance Ministry School (teaching the Adult and Children Mime class). She has worked with other local church youth mime ministries teaching various choreography. Outside of Bermuda, Erica has had the opportunity to minister in the United States and also in Kenya in 2017 whilst on a mission trip.
Erica has been ministering through mime for 3 years. Locally, she’s served as a Director of mime ministry, a high school youth leader and also as a small group facilitator. She also makes up half of the duo, Divine Expressions Mime Ministry, alongside her close friend and colleague at ASDMS, Dionne Greene.
She is currently employed as a Residential Care Officer for Residential Treatment Services (Dept. of Child and Family Services), at the local boys home.
Erica is so humbled and grateful to God for the gift of mime in which plays a pivotal role in her personal relationship with Him. Her favorite scripture is 2 Corinthians 5:17, which reads, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold the new has come!”
